In Southern Italy, one-year old pooch was hit by a speeding vehicle of 70mph. Unfortunately, the driver-Marco Menozzi didn’t stop the vehicle immediately to see the fate of the dog. But he stopped the car after 15 miles to see what happened to his car.
For his surprise, he could see the dog in the grill of his car. The driver was not punished for his act of hit and run because the dog survived even after knocked with a speed of 70mph.
Experts opined that if the dog was knocked with lesser speed, he would have bounced off the car and been crushed under the wheels.
I think the dog escaped because the plastic grill disintegrated and absorbed much of the energy of the impact.
As far as my knowledge is concerned the driver should be punished with a fine because he didn’t stop the vehicle to see the fate of the canine.
But the dog is really lucky because he escaped with little scrapes and bruises with a broken leg.

Most of the pet owners really show hatred behavior once they see their dog urinates on the rug in front of them when they return back from the office. It is not difficult to correct this housebreaking activity.
The main reason for this housebreaking is you would have scolded your dog harshly in the past for varied reason. That’s why your pet has become slightly fearful of you, and is showing her submission and deference by urinating when she sees you.
How To Correct This Housebreaking Activity?
Next time you return home, ignore her completely so long as she adopts a submissive posture, and wait until she is standing on all four feet before greeting her calmly without fuss. Don’t show anger when she urinates. She cannot help it, and you will make the situation worse.

Neutering male dog is nothing but removing the testicles of male dog through surgical method. Some of the pet owners believe that dog neutering is making their “macho” dog into “wimp”. But there are numerous advantages of doing neutering your dog.
A number of health advantages can be put forward for having your dog neutered. Castration reduces the incidence of:
- Testicular Tumors, relatively common in the older unneutered male dog.
- Anal Adenomas, tumors that appear around the anus, often causing severe irritation, bleeding, and sometimes problems with defecation.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, enlargement of the prostate gland due to the effect of testosterone, the male sex hormone. The prostate gland sits at the neck of the bladder and lies just below the rectum. The condition can therefore cause problems with urination and normal defecation.
As regards the actual surgery, age makes no difference. However, if you do not intend to use him for breeding, early neutering of dog can be a good idea, as he is less likely to learn hormonally induced, undesirable behavioral patterns, which can be difficult to correct in an older dog. But actually most of the dogs will be neutered at the age of six months.
Yes. An egg is fertilized only once, but many eggs are shed in each season, so it is possible for several eggs to become fertilized by different males if multiple matings occur.
After a desired mating has taken place, you must continue to isolate the female for as long as she continues to welcome make advances in order to prevent subsequent accidental mating.
When a dog suffers a serious injury or the sudden onset of illness, your first priority is to keep calm (panic will only waste valuable time) and contact a local veterinary practice without delay for advice and assistance. You can take the following action if unable to reach help immediately, but do not attempt dog first aid if you are at all uncertain of what you are doing.
- Make sure that the dog can breathe by removing debris from its mouth and gently pulling the tongue forward.
- Place the dog in a recovery position, with its left side uppermost, and keep it warm.
- Check for a heartbeat by placing the heel of your hand on the left side of the dog’s chest just behind the elbow. Give cardiac massage if you are unable to feel a heartbeat.
- Stop any bleeding.
- Take the dog as quickly as possible to the nearest veterinary practice.

- Scissors and tweezers.
- A foil blanket in case of collapse.
- Disposable gloves.
So, if you get these simple dog first-aid kits in your pets room, you can simply get rid of sudden illness among your dog.
The main purpose of dog grooming is to remove dead hair and debris from your dog’s coat. It is also a chance to look for ticks and fleas and to check the general condition of the coat and skin. Dog grooming should be clean and supple, with no signs of excess scaling or greasiness; any unusual lumps, bumps or bald patches should be examined by your vet right away. Above all, grooming is an important social activity, a time to build up your relationship with your dog. Do follow the following Dog Grooming tips for best results-
How to Groom Your Dog?
1.Comb out any tangles from the coat. Use a fine-toothed comb for long, feathery hair on the ears, around the neck, and under the tail. Look out for, and remove, ticks and burrs.
2. Comb out dead hair from the dense undercoat, especially if the dog is molting. Nearly all breed molt twice yearly.
3. Using an appropriate brush for the thickness of your dog’s coat, brush the entire coat, working back from the head.
4. Follow the direction of the hair growth down the back, across the flanks, and down the legs to the feet. Do not neglect the underparts.
5. Watch out for flea dirt, particularly when grooming around the base of the tail.
6. Clean the area around the bottom and check that the anal sacs are not inflamed.
7. Use scissors to tidy the hair around the ears, eyes, muzzle, and bottom.
8. With a dampened cotton ball, wipe away any mucus in the corner of the eye.
Make teeth cleaning a part of your grooming routine. Your vet will advise you. Do not bathe your dog more than is necessary. Use a mild baby shampoo or special shampoo for dogs. Avoid a medicated type, especially if your dog loves rolling in mud and filth and needs frequent baths.

It can be very frightening if your dog suddenly collapses. There are two kinds of collapse: a faint and Seizure. It is not easy to differentiate between them if you’re seeing them first time.
If your dog faints, don’t panic. remain calm. Usually the collapse will last only a matter of seconds, no more than a minute or two at most.
Lay the dog on its right side in a comfortable position. If its gums and tongue appear bluish and the dog is unconsious, ensure a free airway by pulling its tongue as far out of its mouth as seems comfortable. Get someone to call the vet for advice. Meanwhile, attempt artificial respiration if necessary.
Check for the heart beat by feeling the left side of its chest behind the elbow and give first aid if necessary.
The main cause for the collapse is lack of oxygen to brain. It may be caused by poor circulation resulting from the heart’s failure to pump blood effeciently.
A convulsive fit may signal a brain disorder such as epilepsy. The dog will normally take longer to recover than after a faint. Even metabolic disorders of the liver and kidneys, and diabetes mellitus, can also cause convulsive-type collapses and lead to coma if treated.
Most of us are taking meat or fish on Sundays and have a nice nap in the afternoon. Some of my friends ask is there any special diet for their dogs especially on Sundays. I inquired this fact with some of the pet owners. They are giving a special diet called “Rice-Meat Pudding” for their beloved dog.
Ingredients
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 tbs vegetable oil
- 1 cup vegetables
- 4 cups rice
- 1/2 cup of ground meat
Method
Cook all ingredients together in a hot air oven. Be sure that the meat is well-cooked. Allow to boil and serve to your beloved pet.
Your dog will love this dish like anything. Only thing it won’t take the regular feed next day because it will ask the same special diet next day also. If you won’t provide this rice-meat pudding on next day, it will take the next meal.
